By matching engine speed and adjusting throttle to minimize load you can shift in and out of gears without the clutch.

I recently had a clutch go out driving in the mountains (with my old toyota). I drove 30 miles back home and parked at the garage with no clutch. The only tricky part was managing stoplights. I would get into low while moving, and do the final stop and start using ignition and starter.

Of course all the energy normally absorbed by the clutch pads (for which they are designed), is absorbed by the transmission gears and drive train. Don't do this except in an emergency or to show off to girlfriend. :-)
