Yeah, if you do a little math you see the Euro vs. U.S. deal:

3.0L Euro torque rating = 300 Nm (= 221 lb-ft)
3.0L U.S. torque actual = 214 lb-ft (-3%)

2.5L Euro torque rating = 245 Nm (= 181 lb-ft)
2.5L U.S. torque actual = 175 lb-ft (-3%)

But note that the flattened curve should still yield 10-15% better torque between 1500-2500 and 5000-6000 rpm. I don't think THAT will change for the worse in U.S.-spec cars.
