i drove a 225tt and 330i sp within a day of each other. my previous bmw was a '99 m coupe. i didn't like the tt power delivery. yes, it is a fast car, could probably be made to accelerate faster than the 330 (but not even close to the m coupe!). however if you don't drop the clutch at over 2k but ease into it, there's nothing from the engine bay until about 1900 rpm, at which point power comes in rather abruptly. on a track or in spirited twisty-road driving it shouldn't be much of an issue, but in everyday stop-and-go it sucks (IMO). the tt also feels a bit ponderous handling-wise for a sportscar. in my subjective opinion, the steering feel and overall handling of the tt is a bit short of the 330 sedan. the quattro does grip nicely, but also takes away the ability to steer with the throttle. shifter action is much nicer in the bimmer - the audi felt notchy and awkward to me.summary: if you want a real sports car, get an m coupe (if you don't like the styling, your loss ;). the 330 is a more involving and satisfying drive than the tt, but the "titty" has style on its side. not much practicality, though.
if you're seriously considering the audi, you must drive one yourself and decide. otherwise don't lose any sleep over it - the 330 is a better car in almost every regard.
