Back in '92 (1st yyr of e36 US sales)when it was time to trade in my e30, I got an incredible deal on a metalic calypso red/parchment 325i ($5000 under invoice)for a fully loaded car.

Why? Because the car sat in the showroom for 3 months and got very little interest from potential buyers. They even pained the bumpers and side skirts body colored for free to make the sale.

Well, I picked it up on Monday and drove it around RI for a week, mostly to work and school. When I returned to the dealership on Friday to to claim my floor mats my salesman asked me where I had been driving it.

It seems, since Monday, that same dealership had recieved 7 orders for the sale color combination.
The same comination they were unable to move in 3 months!
