Aftermarket tunning void warranty? (archive)

I was thinking about tunning my car aftermarket but my dealer told me it would void the warranty. I was thinking about lowering the car, and adding a muffler for increased horsepower and maybe change some stuff like air intake or air filter. Should any of these upgrades void the dealer warranty?

I have a 2000 323i with a 4 year 80,000 km warranty
