After about 3 months, my 323Ci's brakes have been squeaking. It's just embarrassing whenever I pull up to a stop and hear this really loud squeak. Anyone know what causes this?

I had same problem (brake squeeking after about 5 days of driving) and was really annoyed by that. Went to the dealer and they replaced the brake pads and now it's noise free. According to the service dept. of the dealer where I bought the car from, the squeeking sound does not affect the braking perfomance and it just happens to be my "luck" to get the car which has a squeeking brake. Go figure! I bought the car in Toronto area and am wondering if it's a Canadian bmw issue!

I just picked up my new 323i 5 days ago, i love the car! The car has excelent acceleration and handling but i have a concern about the brakes. About 2 days ago, my brakes started squeaking when used. The car doesnt stop as good as it did 5 days ago, and it also makes a really annoying sqeak when used, normaly i would make a big deal about this, but when considering i just paid 50 grand (canadian) for bmw, i really feel this should not be happening. Please post any thoughts on this matter! Is this normal, is it just cause their still brand new, or is this a problem i should get checked out by the dealer?
