The belt would turn the generator just like in a gas car today, out of curiosity, what are the things that you have patents on?

Wayne correctly pointed out that this would be essentially a "perpetual motion machine". That is, one that has no frictional or other losses and keeps going forever with no additional energy input. If you can come up with one of those, dude, you'll be richer than good ol' Bill Gates!

I don't mean to cut down your idea, and from your post I'm not sure if you were joking or not, but the laws of physics would prevent such a machine from working without some form of additional energy input. Too many frictional losses in the engine, drivetrain, and wheels/road. Engines run on refined fossil fuel for a reason: the "potential energy" is high compared to the weight/volume. But even so, you eventually have to refuel.

As for me, the patents I have are "owned" by the companies I've worked for over the years, even though I'm officially the inventor listed on the patents. They are in regard to various medical devices.
Don't want to bore you with the details...just keep those "creative juices" flowing!
