The prelude driver was a skillful driver. He wasn't afraid of pushing car's limit(always between 6000-8000rpm). Also, all tests were done around ~11pm (cold air). None of the above cars had any aftermarket modifications.

Don't forget that all of us did push to the redline, unlike car magazines.

I had a 97 Prelude. Always felt that it had about the same power as my E46 328Ci from 4000 RPM and above, but lacks power below that.
