i talked to a friend tonight and he was telling me about an incident he had with irvine bmw. he had brought a 99 m3 (their last one) and wrote them a check. a few days later, he gets a call from the dealership telling him to drive the car in and they're give him free floor mats. he drives in, gives them the key ... and guess what? they write him a refund check and told him they made a mistake and the car was already sold. apparently they got a higher bid for the car. to make the story short, they called the cops on him and he was escorted off the property ...
he was a minority w/ limited english so i guess they knew they could screw him over...
i wish they did sell my car, that way i don't have to buy from a dealer who practice that kind of activity.

I put down a deposit for a Oct slot with a Bay area BMW dealer in AUG and 4 wks later was told that the they made a mistake and I won't get my Oct slot.

The reason, get this: "BMW doesn't make 330i in October and is totally out of our control. We MAY be able to put you on our Nov production list."

I got my refund back and took my biz to another dealer.

Since I may be back for service and run into the rep, I didn't want to rub it in. It's obviously that thay sold my slot to another customer who probably paid more.

I just couldn't believe the excuse the rep came up with.
