happened to me also. Brought to dealer and it was thermostat problem. National Backorder...have to wait 1 month. The problem is they send signal to all part of your engine and try to compensate for that.

My coolant warning light appeared on my 2000 328ci... level seems okay. Anybody else have this problem?

I thought I saw this discussed some time ago and dealers were backed up with this problem...
