In Reply to: Question for those with the "rain-sensing" wipers. posted by Stu B on November 05, 2000 at 23:57:26:

I have them in my 330cic and they are the coolest damn thing. This sounds silly but they seem almost psychic and always seem to wipe exactly when I would if i were to do it manualy.

The "auto" feature is turned on by moving the right lever up one notch. From there you also have the abiltiy of turning this little knob that will make the wipers more or less anal about how many drops are allowed on the winshied before a wipe. Once you get it set to your liking it's awesome. You just drive and don't think about it.

If you turn the car off without putting the lever back in the off position and it starts to rain again you will have to move the lever to off and then back to on again before they will start to work. This is to keep them from activating when you don't want them to (if you forgot you left them on). Very well thought out.

Anyhow GET EM! you'll be glad.

On another note. I also got the Park Distance Control (PDC) witch is one of my favorite features. Doesnt seem that usefull untill you try it out. Makes paralell parking a breeze and you can really judge how far away you are (up to about 6 in).

enjoy!
