Just because the government hasn't made something illegal doesn't mean its smart to do!! Although these days in America, most people have a hard time figuring that out, the Gov't should be responsible for every aspect of our life, right? If passing on the right is dangerous (duh!), the Gov't would have outlawed it, right?

Its not illegal to walk through Central Park alone at midnight wearing 15 gold chains. Its not illegal to park you brand new BMW in Compton and leave it unlocked and the windows down while you go out of town for the weekend. Even as the govt intrudes more and more into our lives, you still gotta think for yourself a little.

There's a huge blind spot on the right for anything hauling a trailer. Passing on the right is a good way to get killed.

I saw someone try and do that. He ran out of lane (right lane ended), was on the shoulder. He tried to pull around the truck, but got clipped. The truck picked the kicked the car up and flipped it. It got stuck in front of the truck, and kept hitting the truck as it flipped. The net effect looked like the truck was dribbling the car like a basketball. Eventually, the car hit the truck at an angle where the truch punted the car across the left lane (where I was behind all this) and into the trees in the median.

All this was the fault of the car driver because he passed on the right.

I was coming home from a party in anaheim last night in my 5 week old 330i. 3 lane freeway, when I got on the 5 south, the middle lane was occupied by a f-150 that was hauling a trailer. I was in the right lane, near a shoulder (so much construction up there). Anyway I was following my friend and he passed the truck from the right also, and I tried to follow him, the truck driver appeared to be drunk or sleepy and I started to see him swirve as I was trying to pass him. I stepped on it and was about 1/4 passed the rear of his trailer when it seemed like me and everyone in my car were about to die. The trailer back swirved into the lane near mine, I had to move right and was about inches away from the shoulder, slammed on the brakes. I really thought I was dead. I then passed him from the left lane and honked like crazy at him, should have called the cops.
Just a reminder, while you guys are out driving your beautiful cars be careful! There are a lot of freaks and drunks out there, appreciate everything you got, because life is too short.
