Legally, if you mis-represent the car during the sale, you could be liable for damages. Unless the misrepresetation was in writing though, it would be very tough for the buyer to prove anything.

Unless the car has a salvage title, I don't think you are required to volunteer any information.

My take on such a dilemma would be to be honest, but don't make a big deal out of it. If the buyer doesn't ask about damage, then don't mention it. If they do, simply explain the damage as you have done here, point out that it was properly repaired, and volunteer to have them take it to a body shop for a checkout if they wish. Most buyers will be very satisfied with this.

And you'll sleep better at night as well.
