Yes, well patience is one virtue of maturity--the ability to delay gratification for a greater reward. Put up with a little less for a few years and live with better cars for less money for the rest of your life.
I'd rather just buy the car now, and accelerate payments so that I have it paid off before then.
If you can accellerate the payments then you can accellerate the monthly savings, too, and do it in less than the 5½ years in my example. The point is that in about the time of a typical new car loan you've dug yourself out of the car payment hole. From them on out you're ahead of the game driving better cars, for less money, forever!
