BMW maintenance intervals may be unrealistically long, but 1K is way overkill.

For oil I would do 6months/7500 mi. The tranny and diff are supposed to be lifetime. I don't know if I buy that, but you could probably go 3-4 years.

Based on what all the carmakers are doing, I don't think that getting metal particals in the oil from break in is an issue any more.

I'm getting set to roll up on 1000 miles in my 330Ci and was thinking of changing all of my fluids. The oil and filter will definitely be changed, and was debating the value of changing the tranny (5spd manual) and the rear diff as well. (Mostly to clean out any dirt/metal/etc left from assembly and break in.) After all, fluids are cheap and easy to change, and I've always had really good luck doing this on other vehicles. Thoughts?

Thanks.
