Actually, no. Everyone, don't use cable modem. Stay and wait for your DSL (if you believe in the Pac Bell advertisements, that is).

I have got the @home service for the last two months. Everytime I have checked the bandwdith speed using the MSN bandwidth website, it has shown to be quite fast (sometimes exceeding t-1). My personal experience seems to confirm that.

Now, not everything is perfect in the @home system though. E-mail seems to be buggy. But given that Pac Bell (the only DSL provider) may never provide dsl in my are, I am quite happy with the cable service.
