That's right, I'm back. As I predicted a few months ago, (due primarily to the weakness of the e46 design) the IS300 is taking a massive chunk out of 3 series BMW sales, and the manual IS has not even arrived yet. The new C class is quickly building steam, and the soon to be released offerings from Audi and Jag promise to be stellar. Meanwhile, BMW is ALREADY in the midst of a "face lift" for the rapidly aging/fading e46, notwithstanding its recent power increase. Hmmm, BMW substantially boosted engine output within the first year of production and is now preparing a new "modernized" visage in its second year (unprecedented for BMW). Clearly, somebody at BMW has sounded the alarm and now buckets of sweat are cascading from BMW's brow. BMW realizes that the e46 was a poor effort, and that the car will soon relinquish BMW's long-celebrated lock on this cherished segment of the market. This is not flame bait, but was designed to provoke thought and perhaps intelligent response.
