Not everybody has the same taste in music as we do. The base is fine for a lot of people. Especially the buyers who arn't in their 20s like 90% of the people on this board who make up a small % actual buyers. The HK is better than stock but not all that great. But it's fine for the majority of people. Then there are goof balls like me that have to have a perfect sounding system and spend $1200 in the aftermarket world. Then there are people that will spend $2,500, then $5,000 and on up. Everyone is different, buy what you want and what you can easily afford.

I'd get the HK upgrade, unless you are the type who likes to spend the time (and money) to upgrade the stereo components with aftermarket parts. In which case you can probably install a system that'd be much better than the HK.
