I don't know the password you refer to, but I was able to find two DIY docs on V1 install. One was on e46fanatics.com and the other on bmw330ci.com (the info applies to a 330i as well). I used both in combination to install the V1 on my 330Ci.

At any rate, as to the blue green wire, I'm pretty sure that's the one for power. I remember trying to test for 12V before actually hooking up my detector and having problems getting a multimeter probe to touch the actual metal on the white 3-wire connector (BTW, I hope that's the harness you're using. There is another wire harness up there with a 5-wire white connector which is NOT the one you want to use). I just said the hell with it, and then placed the clamp (power tap) on the wire and hooked it up to the V1, and it worked.

As for the ground screw, it should indeed be there. It's relatively big. It'll be towards the front of that headliner area, over the portion where the 3 cockpit lights are. If memory serves, that screw is also in front of the sunroof motor..

So Hanuka Harry sent me a new Valentine 1 to go into my new 330i... I would like to install the power connector into the roof area per Kris's install. I did try to get into Brads install link from the FAQ but it seems to require a password. Does anyone know that password? Barring that, I also need to confirm that Blue/Green is the wire on the homelink that is the 12 volt switched wire. And can somene point me to where the ground screw is up in the headliner.

Thanks..... Scott from Joisey
