I would download songs with 96 or higher bitrate and you shouldn't notice a difference in quality. I burn at 4x and never have any problems. My roommate burns at 10x and never has problems either. I use Memorex brand CD-Rs...74min and 80min. My car CD player and home player have never had problems playing burned discs. You a "Sharpie" marker to label the CD's. I wouldn't use any aftermarket labels b/c if the adhesive wears out and the label comes off in the player...you're gonna be pissed.
