The Tire Rack is great for light wheels (once you find something you like, shop locally to compare prices). I wish they would list the weights of the wheels too. You may be able to call them. I know some of the BBS wheels are pretty damn light (is it the RK or RKII). They are also expensive.

About the brakes... I get on the track and slowly heat up the brakes until they are really hot. Then I use ABS on just about every corner (until they fade pretty bad). Then, on the last lap, I never touch them - just downshift and coast. When I get off the track, I drive around another five minutes in first gear in the paddock to let them cool longer.

I never warped the rotors on my 328i, even after four schools. It kills them to go from ice cold to full ABS. Or the reverse (parking on them when they are smoking).
