I am not sure about the bitrate. I have never worried about it and have always had good results. As for the recording speed, I recommend a setting of 4x. If you do much higher than that some cd players might not be able to read it. I haven't heard anything about certain disks being better than others. If you don't have jewel cases you eather have to buy a cd carrier or you can buy paper sleeves. As for labeling, I just use a big sharpie and write down what is on it.

Basically I'm trying to get songs and then burn them onto CDs to play in the OEM CD Changer.

1) Should I care about the bitrate listed for the songs I find? Will too high a rate screw up the CD player? Too low?

2) Does burn speed matter? My CD-Recorder will do 2x, 4x, or 8x.

3) Does the type/brand of disc matter? If so what's the best? I heard that silver CD-Rs are better than others. Is this true? If so what's the reason?

4) If you don't buy jewel cases how do you label/store your CDs?

Thanks in advance!
Rex
