The higher the bitrate, the better it sounds. (Music is more detailed on playback!) YOu have to convert your MP3 to WAV files anyway so who cares that the MP3 is 9MB for 320kbps when it will balloon way out to a 45MB wav file.
Burn speed does not matter at all on the player side, but it may introduce more errors while burning. If you have problems at higher speeds, then decrease the burn rate until you are successful.
Also, buy the jewelcase blank CDR's. They have slimline cases out there that work really well.
