The latter sounds way cooler.

But since you're an older guy, you probably don't care about beating other cars on little street races... so the non-S Boxster would be fine. See a lot of older guys in that car. If you do care for a little street or even autocross/track fun, try your hardest to get the S or else punks in M Roadsters and Honda S2000s will kick you around easy. Even in the S you'll have to know how to drive to keep things equal.

No more boring 3-series action! GO PORSCHE, baby! Good luck.
