Goto like Cutter or Pacific online and they are only like $230 or so then you pay BMW around $40 to activate it, so a total cost of around $270, can't beat that in an aftermarket alarm unless go very junky. Yes, you would have to install yourself that way, but any idiot with a GED could install one of these. The car is prewired, all you do is plug in 3 components, one in trunk, one in roof of car and one in engine. If you have 2 hands and half a brain you have to be able to install one of these. Also, the alarm at that price is a great deal for the options and features if you need an alarm. I got it and kind of wish I didn't, there is no reason to have one where I live, no crime at all, so basically I paid almost $300 to here my car go beep, beep, woohooo.

Thinking of the new 2001 Coupe 325ci, is $495 worth it for factory alarm. Should I think of aftermarket alarm like G4? Are these new Bimmer more difficult for thief to steal?
