Thanks for the clarification Jon. What you say makes sense. I did some archive searching last night (before your clarification was posted) and found several references to people's ordering experiences on this matter. Their experience was that 150 status was assigned up to three weeks before what turned out to be the actual build week, and the actual build week was, in fact, the week that they had been told.


Think of it as a "firm order" (i.e. no longer changeable or modifiable). While we might even have a VIN number in 150 status, a March car will not be built until March. It is normal for an order to be in 150 status for up to a couple of weeks until assembly begins. Some of our March sold orders (including yours, Jon) were bumped up a week or two in terms of actual production week. Even though your is a March order it will likely hit 150 status this week... By definition, "production status code #150" means order scheduled for production. Where you all are getting confused is that with DCS 2000 a printout of a vehicle inquiry might very well read "production started"... In my opinion, the time to start passing out cigars or popping the champagne bottles is status 151/152...
