Original bulbs are clear, you need amber bulbs to make DOT approved. As far as crash test stuff don't know a cop who would look for DOT stamp on lenses but you never know. The real problem with most of the knock off lenses is fit. I know of two people who had tochange them because they did not fit right anf=d leaked water into the trun cavity. Before yo put the trunk liner back in place spray off the back with water hard ans look for leaks!!!
in the new lights? Are they legal then?
