So, there are separate grills/speakers for the front mids? If so, is it easy to put something aftermarket in there?

The front mids are on the door panel above the woofer. No rear mids (?) rear tweeters for sedan are on rear doors. Coax with rear woofers for coupes.

I just have the six speakers, so where would the front and rear mid's normally go that I don't have? Thanks.

The woofers front and rear are identical (160mm euro size). The rears are 2-way (otherwise BMW would say that you have 12 speakers). I believe they are co-axial components. The stock deck has 6 pairs of crossovered outputs so there is no need for crossovers.

6 10 HK(12)
FR-woofer (lt/rt) x x x
FR-mid (lt/rt) x x
FR-tweeter (lt/rt) x x x
RR-woofer (lt/rt) x x x -|
RR-mid (lt/rt) |- coaxial comp for Ci

so, my original question still stands. the fronts i've figured out to be 5.25 components. are the rear speakers 3 way? does it matter? i guess i can get whatever and someone can make it fit? but i'd like to just get ones i can drop right in. i already purchased a set of 5.25 components..should i just get 5.25 components for the rear too?
thanks
