: There has been much speculation about if, how and when BMW will modify the E46 steering. Some of you told us you want more road feel, and our engineers developed a solution that provides the road feel you want yet keeps the driving and parking comfortable. As of the start of the year, BMW implemented this solution. Feedback from owners is positive. Our engineers are now developing a solution for customers with E46s produced prior to this year. We hope that this will be available by the end of the first quarter. I am a new BMW owner and will be taking deliver of my car in March. I spoke to a BMWNA represenative who transferred me to his manager. The manager said that the post on bimmer.org is correct and was made by BMWNA. He also said that any BMW produced in 2001 have the new steering. I had to give him my VIN for him to confirm it.
