Yes the car seems to jerk a bit on my 330i step also. I don't know of this clunking noise you are talking about however, maybes its because my music is always loud and I can never hear it.

Anyone notice when down-shifting into 1st from 2nd produces a small clunk noise, and a noticeable jerk? It's definately not as smooth as from 3rd into 2nd.

I'm seeing this when I down shift at low speeds, maybe 3-5 miles / hour.
