Finally, a memo to us at the retail level addressing this issue... :)

---------- (an excerpt)

"With the introduction of the 330i in 6/2000 BMW introduced a modified power steering assist characteristics to accomodate the customer request for increased steering assist, especially at low vehicle speeds. Some customers have contacted BMW directly or have participated in Internet discussion forums expressing their perception of a slight reduction in road feel resulting from this change. In response, BMW has again adjusted the steering characteristics of 330i vehicles produced in 2001...".

What I have concluded from this bulletin is that the new steering revision change occurred with all vehicles produced after 1/2001.

BMW Centers are being advised to direct customers with 2001 model year 330i's produced up to 1/2001 who wish to have their vehicles steering equipment replaced to contact Customer Relations at (800)831-1117.

I realize that this is not "new" information. It merely corroborates Ginger's previous postings in this forum. It does, however, make me (personally) feel better, though, addressing this issue at the retail level. Thank you BMW.
