You're going to become a better driver if you keep your car stock as much as possible and as long as possible. You want to learn how to control your car with your own driving and not let the fancy car parts hide your mistakes. So, it's a GOOD thing to run on those OE SP 17" M wheels.

To date, the only mods on my 330i are new rims (for the racing Kumhos...but I still use my street tires at the track occasionally and I always autocross with my street tires) and a 4-pt. harness. At the point I get so good that I want to touch my suspension or my engine or add a roll cage, I'll buy a dedicated track car. But, for now, I'm concentrating on the driving because that is what will make me faster in the long run, not the equipment.
