The NAV on the 5 series with the larger screen looks much nicer. If they were to update the NAV on the E46 so that it's the same, I would definitely get it. Otherwise, it seems too small.

I'm very glad I got the Nav. It is great in the city. As far as the small display, I don't really use it in map mode that often. The turn by turn directions are very good and require less "dashboard" attention anyway. If using the map mode the scale can easily adjusted to give you the required level of detail.

I still like looking at a large road map for a general sense of direction, but I'm doing that less and less as I grow to trust the Nav. For detailed directions it can't be beat.

After getting the Nav I will never own a car without it again.
