Caddilac (GM, american) is definitely the inovator in the automotive industry. It was a while ago, (first electric start, first auto trans, and so on) and still is (the features in a new escalade make BMW's seem low tech). Also, BMW can't even produce it's own parts, it relies on GM to supply its automatic trannys (GM's 5L40E). BMW is definitely not up to american standards in engineering. I'm not saying BMW's are crap, but I feel that american cars are defintely better in the enginneering department. By sales numbers most americans feel the same way I do (4 out of the top 6 selling cars in the US are american [Ford F-series, Chevrolet/GMC Silverado/Sierra, Ford Exploror, Ford Taurus] and the other two are Japanese [Toyota, 4; Honda, 5).



Your comparing a Cadillac to a BMW?
Let me answer your questions. "I have decided that I will either get a 330ci or a new Cadillac Eldorado. Both are excellent cars." You are wrong there, the BMW is an excellent car the Cadillac is a shitbox. "I would give the edge in prestige and Engineering to Cadillac and the performance edge to BMW." What prestige is there with Cadillac? Cadillac has a horrible rep and rightfully so. There cars look like crap, perform like crap, and drive like crap. "The thing im worried about with the BMW is value. I know the Caddy will hold its value well but im not sure with the BMW." Cadilac has no value. The minute you drive that junk off the lot it is worthless. "Ive owned many Lincolns and Caddys and I know American Engineering is the best in the world when it comes to cars and I dont know if the Germans can compete." If it was not for the Koreans, American Engineering would be the worst in the world by far. If I where you I would go with the 330ci.

The lease is coming up on my Lincoln and I was looking for something a little sportier. I have decided that I will either get a 330ci or a new Cadillac Eldorado. Both are excellent cars. I know the Caddy will hold its value well but im not sure with the BMW. Im sure the BMW would be safer to drive. Ive owned many Lincolns and Caddys and I know American Engineering is the best in the world when it comes to cars and I dont know if the Germans can compete. If there is anybody that can give me some insight on what I should get it would be greatly apreciated.
