possible to reprogram step s/w to start in 1st? (archive)

i know dinan makes an upgrade for the step software. Does it start the car off in first instead of second in d and sport mode? Is this a good idea? what's the point of having it start off in second anyways? gas milage?

when in sport mode, it still starts off in second, right?

anyways, just thought it would be interesting to hear opinions and thoughts.
