Here's the problem: sales and marketing is all about "overcoming objections," which by both definition and practice, is immoral. For me, I try to educate myself independently, well in advance before buying anything, so salespeople (and the whole retail part of the chain, for that matter) are a completely unnecessary middle layer between the manufacturer/wholesale distributer and me.
Not to worry, Jon: in the future, when I order anything and everything directly over the 'net, you'll have no problem with a career transition, as you are skilled (web-savvy) and ethical.
