alpine chm-s620 is same size as factory unit. car is pre-wired for it. wires are located in left rear behind panel. it's a 3 and 6 pin connector. you'll need an adapter (blitz bmw alp v1) to convert3/6 pin to 8 pin alpine DIN plug. i think factory brackets are too expnesive ($115). i drilled into left rear plastic tray and mounted changer vertically.

Can anyone confirm that a CD changer can be dropped in at anytime? In other words, the cable connecting to the radio is already mounted to attach to a trunk mounted CD changer? I know on the Audi's you can just buy a Panasonic $250 changer that drops right in. Is this the same case with BMWs and what changer is compatible with the connection? Thanks.
