Does anyone know how the auto industry segments (archive)

I'm working on a paper for my b-school marketing class and I'm trying to come up with the right car segments (e.g., mid-size, near-luxury, small suv, etc.) in my paper. However, I'm having a hard time finding the standard that the automobile industry uses.
