Dealer won't charge me for the oil... but still baffled as to why it needed oil so early on!

Gotta relax my right foot a little i guess and not drive so aggressively! :-)

You shouldn't have to pay for it if they are letting people go to 15k before oil changes (ludicrous to begin with).
