For those of you who know, I am thinking of canceling my order for a steel grey 325i sedan (5 speed), because of dealer conflicts, and the amount of time the order is taking. I looked at a 2000 topaz blue 328Ci today. I has 12,500 miles, PP, SP, CD changer, Harmon Kardon, Leather, Xenons, Heated seats. He was asking 33K, and we are at 31.5K now, and I told him I would sleep on it. The car is flawless, but has not been maintained that well. It was owned by a `18 yr old college student. The outside had no swirls or scratches, or paint chips, just needs a good washing and waxing. The interior was a mess....he never cleaned it. I really needed some work. ALso, after 13K miles, the leather in the drivers seat was starting to wrinkle and age......I took it for a test drive. I really liked the coupe. The cockpit seemed smaller, and the first thing I noticed was that the steering wheel blocked my vision of the gauges. I could of tried to adjust it and the seat some more, but did not try. The car rode great, no rattles, and seemed to have a bit more lower end torque than the 325i I test drove. Acceleration wise, I would say they are close. The big thing was the steering. The steering was TIGHT on this car! I never drove a bmw with this steering, but I really liked it. I hope my 325i has something close to that steering if I decide not to cancel the order. It also had a stiffer clutch which I really liked. I really liked this car, but I found out it was in 2 small accidents and the front and rear bumper were repainted........paint work was flawless, I would of never known. It also needs a GOOD cleaning. I am skeptical to buy this car, but perhaps 29-30K it would be a nice bargain to drive for a year or two. I will keep you posted.
