for the 5-speed 323. Found this on E46fanatics.com

Does that make sense?

Long story short, I've decided to order the Dinan 3.15 differential for my 328....

Anyways, I don't have the patience, but I think this would be worth someone's time (assuming they have a manual 328)...

Seek out a wrecked E46 323 (maybe 325 too?) in a junkyard and see what it would cost for the differential ($800???). Why? The 5-speed 323 comes with a 3.17 (maybe 3.15 differential)! The 328s come with a 2.93. I cannot forsee any issues involved in putting the 323's differential into a 328.

I really don't see why someone won't try this if they're willing to wait it out. I'm impatient and I want my differential NOW! The Dinan unit DOES NOT offer limited-slip so I can't think of any real differences between the Dinan 3.15 and the OE 323 3.17(5?) differential.......

Someone should explore this option. Hopefully I'm helping someone out there.......

Justin (aka DinanThree), you better hold me to it! I better order it on Monday right? LOL.
