In Reply to: FSB, interesting comment on Dinan Differential... posted by JP in TO on June 17, 2001 at 20:49:13:

Again from e46fanatics.com---->

This reinforces the theory that these are BMW differentials or the internal parts at least.

3.07 gears came from the 323i's and as far as I know there aren't any current models that utilize that gearing. Hence they don't make them anymore.
3.15's are what's in the manual e46 325i's.

3.15 is probably the better gear for the street than the 3.07. You'll notice a bigger difference and stilll get to 60 mph without needing to shift into 3rd (taking full advantage of the Stage II's increased revlimit).

I am probably going to research getting 3.23 gears. If my calculations are correct, it's the most you can go with for a 0-60 without needing a shift into 3rd).

I heard once that internal diff gears weren't available separately from BMW... Only rebuilt diffs with full housings. Sounds like Dinan can get just the parts with their BMW partnership.

Let us know how it goes. It'll be interesting on the results since the diff mod is probably going to yield the most performance gains than your other mods.
