Never use dishwashing detergent unless your goal is to strip off wax. It is typically the first step you use when using something synthetic like Zaino or Klasse. If you're using regular carnuba wax, you would definitely want to use a normal car wash shampoo.

After applying synthetic wax, you would never use something like Joy, Ivory or Dawn either. Just your first application.
