transmission software upgrade question.. (archive)

I'm thinking of getting the dinan auto. transmission software download for my 323ci and I was wondering how likely it is for the upgrade to get "overwritten" during service.

In other words, does BMW touch the chip at all during service (i.e., do they "reset" the original chip settings)?
