I had an E36 328i with nearly the same engine as the 328i (except I had single VANOS). It was fast, no question about it.

My 330i is much quicker, and has gobs more torque down low where I like it.

In my opinion, the .5 second improvement 0-60 only tells half the story. There is a big difference in driveability.

If you are worried about the horsepower, and it is an issue, get a stripped 330i.
