Haven't driven an M3 either, but from previous posts on this board, the two are completely different animals. The M3 is pure sport, pure power. The 330 is much more power than post people need, but not "scary" like the M3 can be :)

If you were able to get a test drive in the M3, I'm sure you'll have no problem taking a 330 around the block. Give it a spin and I'm sure it'll be pretty easy to decide whether or not you need that extra 200hp/$20k kick :)

I never drove an M3 before.

As far as acceleration, you can definitely get around someone if you want to pass. even a vette. :-)

I've never timed myself before but BMW's posted numbers sounds about right. 0-60 and still in 2nd gear. It's a fun car. And yet refined enough to be a daily driver.
