How to Buff out scratches on Type44s? help! (long) (archive)

I've posted a couple times about this and I only got one reply, I know someone out there knows the answer! :)

My type 44's somehow got surface (i.e. clear coat) scratches on them. I think the brush I used did it because I can't think of any other way, even though I have used it many times in the past, but I digress.

These are NOT deep scratches, nothing like "curb rash". They are light surface scratches in the clear coat, that look like a brillo pad was used on the the wheels. They are light enough that I can drag my finger nail across them and it won't catch BUT they are deep enough to allow the minisule break dust particles in somehow and make them visible.

Is there a product/tool I can use to "buff" out these scratches? Since the type 44's have that "clear coat" layer, I assume it would be similar to buffing out surface scratches on the paint job.

I'm going to have the car detailed in a month or so (getting the front bumper repainted first) do you think they can do it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys
