Pretty much - I don't use it on lower panels for fear of a left over friendly little rock getting settled on the edge of the blade and tearing up the paint. I also find that its only good for removing water - if you just hose and dry, to get dust off for instance - there are spots left after the blade - diesel, sap and so on that a chamois would remove.
