There are quite a few details you need to know regarding the fees, taxes and misc. Road Tax for the E46 M3 would be pretty high + possibly Certifcate of Entitlement and stuff.
I strongly advice you to contact LTA or AAA as soon as possible since you're in Singapore. :)
Btw I am a S'porean in the US actually. ;)
Thank you so much! I assumed LHD was illegal here like many other things :) That would be great if I didn't need to convert (LHD is safer anyway). Do you happen to know what the import fees would be? It's a 2001 M3 if that matters. I am in love with this city! I'm in Singapore right now on business at the Grand Hyatt. Have you been to the CashBox Karoake club?
Moving to Singapore? ;) Well, I am from there actually. And yes indeed, you can drive a LHD car there. Need some approval of some kind. The last time I heard is that conversion is *possible* but technically challenged and not worth the money.
Search for Land, Transport Authority of Singapore. Also visit this forum "BMW Owners' Club Of Singapore-BCOS" at Delphi Forum. I am sure pple there can help. :)
If you need more questions, email me too.
I may be moving to Singapore and I'm investigating whether it's feasible to bring my car here. Cars are extremely expensive in Singapore, so I'm considering a conversion. Can anyone tell me what's involved and the approx cost if it's even possible.
Thanks!
