PLUS the lil 125 motorbikes from Malaysia all over the place. G/f from S'pore but she learned to drive in the US so I got stuck driving. Taxis are the way to go. Or motorbike (750 cc and up)

Wouldn't it be cheaper (and a lot less of a headache) to lease a car over there?
